- No account, login, or personal details are needed to play BlockBoss.
- Your stats — score, games played, combo records — are saved only on your own device. We never receive a copy.
- Ads are served by Google AdMob, which may collect device and ad-related data under Google's own privacy policy, not ours.
- The app requests two permissions — Internet (for ads) and Vibrate (for haptics) — neither used to collect personal data.
- BlockBoss is built for a general audience and isn't directed at children under 13.
Information We Collect
Information you provide
BlockBoss has no account system, sign-up flow, or profile. We don't ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any other identifying information, and none is collected by us through the app.
Gameplay data stored on your device
To power the in-app Stats screen and best-score tracking, BlockBoss saves the following values locally on your device, using Android's standard app-storage mechanism:
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Best score | Shown on the main screen and Stats screen |
| Games played | Shown on the Stats screen |
| Total lines cleared | Lifetime total, shown on the Stats screen |
| Total score (all-time) | Used to calculate your average score |
| Best combo streak | Shown on the Stats screen as a multiplier |
| Best speed streak | Shown on the Stats screen |
| Ads-removed flag | Controls whether ads are shown to you |
This information stays on your device. Optix does not receive, transmit, back up, or have access to it. It's removed automatically if you uninstall the app or clear its data, and your best score can be reset at any time from within the app.
Information collected by third-party services
BlockBoss displays advertising through Google AdMob. To select, serve, and measure ads, Google and its advertising partners may automatically collect data such as your advertising ID, IP address, general device information, and app activity — and may use it to show personalized ads where permitted in your region. This collection is carried out by Google, not Optix, under Google's Privacy Policy and Google's Ad Policies.
We don't use any separate analytics or crash-reporting service beyond what's built into the advertising SDK described above.
How We Use Information
Because BlockBoss doesn't collect personal information itself, there's very little for us to use. The locally-stored gameplay data described above is used solely to display your own statistics back to you inside the app, and to remember whether you've removed ads. We don't use it for advertising, profiling, or anything beyond showing it to you on your own device.
Advertising & Third Parties
BlockBoss is free and ad-supported. Ads are provided by Google AdMob and may include ads from Google's network of third-party partners, each operating under their own privacy policy. You can review and adjust how Google personalizes your ads — including opting out of personalized advertising — through your device's ad settings, typically Settings → Google → Ads on Android, or at adssettings.google.com.
If you're in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, Google may present its own consent prompt governing ad personalization under Google's EU User Consent Policy.
BlockBoss doesn't otherwise sell or share your information with third parties — we don't collect personal information to begin with.
Permissions Used by This App
| Permission | Why BlockBoss requests it |
|---|---|
| Internet | Required so the Google Mobile Ads SDK can request and display banner and interstitial ads. |
| Vibrate | Provides a short haptic pulse when you clear lines. A local device feature only — no data is collected or transmitted. |
In-App Purchases
BlockBoss may in the future offer an optional one-time "Remove Ads" purchase. Any such purchase would be processed entirely through Google Play's billing system, under Google's own terms and privacy policy — Optix would never see or store your payment card details.
Retention & Security
Since your gameplay statistics live only in local storage on your own device, retention is entirely in your control — they persist until you clear the app's data or uninstall BlockBoss, and we hold no copy anywhere. We haven't built, and don't operate, a server to store player data for this app. No method of storage is 100% secure, but because we don't collect or hold personal data ourselves, the risk on our end is minimal.
Children's Privacy
BlockBoss is intended for a general audience and isn't directed at, or knowingly marketed to, children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at sales@optixcs.com.au and we'll address it.
Your Choices
- Reset your stats: use the in-app "Reset Best Score" option, or clear the app's storage from your device's Android settings, at any time.
- Manage ad personalization: adjust your Google ad settings at adssettings.google.com or via Settings → Google → Ads.
- Uninstall: removes all locally-stored data associated with the app.
Because Optix doesn't hold personal data on our own servers, there's generally nothing on our end to access, correct, or delete on your behalf — but you're welcome to contact us with any question or concern.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, if the app's features or the third-party services it uses change. We'll update the effective date above when we do. Continued use of BlockBoss after a change means you accept the updated policy.
